那道士無奈，不敢久占，只得下了臺讓他。努著嘴，徑往樓上見駕。行者道：「等我跟他去，看他說些甚的。」那道士无奈，不敢久占，只得下了台让他。努着嘴，径往楼上见驾。行者道：「等我跟他去，看他说些甚的。」

That Daoist, at a loss, dared not linger long on the platform, and could only come down from it and yield the place to him.
那道士: 那 = nà. 只得: 得 = dé, had no choice but. 久占: 占 = zhàn, to occupy.
努著嘴，徑往樓上見駕。
努着嘴，径往楼上见驾。
Pouting, he went straight up to the tower to see the king.
努著嘴: 著 = zhe, the mouth kept pushed out -- the same pout the old Daoist wore when he tasted the holy water, which is a small unkindness on the novel's part. 見駕 "to present oneself before the throne."
行者道：「等我跟他去，看他說些甚的。」
行者道：「等我跟他去，看他说些甚的。」
Pilgrim said, “Wait while I follow him and see what he has to say.”
行者: 行 = xíng. 看他: 看 = kàn. 說些甚的: 甚 = shén, "what."
Beaten at his own rite, the immortal comes off the platform sulking and heads straight for the king -- not to concede, but to explain. Losing in front of an audience is one thing; losing the account of why is another.
Wukong decides to follow and listen, which sets up the confrontation in the next passage: two men giving the throne opposite explanations for the same empty sky, and only one of them knowing what actually happened.
