萬里無雲 A Sky Swept Clear
行者又將前事說了一遍。那雲童、霧子也收了雲霧，放出太陽星耀耀，一天萬里更無雲。行者又将前事说了一遍。那云童、雾子也收了云雾，放出太阳星耀耀，一天万里更无云。

Pilgrim again set out the whole matter to them as before.
將前事: 將 = jiāng. 行者: 行 = xíng. 說了一遍: the falling tone of 遍 pulls 一 to yí.
那雲童、霧子也收了雲霧，放出太陽星耀耀，一天萬里更無雲。
那云童、雾子也收了云雾，放出太阳星耀耀，一天万里更无云。
The Cloud-Lad and the Mist-One too gathered back the clouds and mist, and let the sun-star shine out dazzling, the whole sky clear for ten thousand li without a cloud.
那雲童: 那 = nà. 霧子: 子 = zǐ. 更無雲: 更 = gèng. 一天萬里: the level tone of 天 keeps 一 at yì; ten thousand lǐ of sky and nothing in it.
The cloud gods obey, and then overdo it. The sky is not merely un-clouded; it is scoured, with the sun glaring out of it for as far as anyone can see.
That excess is a nice touch. Wukong asked them to stop and they have gone further, because obeying him thoroughly seems safer than obeying him exactly. The result is that the immortal's failure is not merely a non-event but a spectacle -- a brilliant empty sky above a man cracking a tablet at it.
