The Pilgrim Plans a Night Flight

頂缸受罪 (dǐng gāng shòu zuì) "to hold the pot and take the blame"—to be left carrying the punishment for another's doing, a homely idiom.
Wujing voices the practical difficulty—the gates are locked fast—and Bajie, who cannot resist a dig, imagines Wukong slipping out as a gnat and leaving the rest to "hold the pot" (頂缸受罪, an idiom for shouldering another's punishment). The scene sets up Wukong's casual magic against his companions' earthbound helplessness.
