碎屍萬段 Ten Thousand Pieces for Revenge

Bajie said, "It shows the feeling of the living, and stands in for the heart of filial duty."
Thirteen characters, and they win the argument outright. 生人意 is the intention of those still alive, and 孝道心 is the heart that keeps the duty owed to elders. Bajie's answer is that an offering is a statement by the giver, not a meal for the receiver — which is precisely what the classical texts on rites say, and he says it in thirteen characters while covered in mud.
Pilgrim said, "Enough of this fooling about.
Seven characters of retreat. Wukong has no answer and changes the subject, which is how you can tell he lost. 胡弄 is to mess about, to fob somebody off with a botch.
Have Sha Monk stay here — first to keep the grave, and second to watch over the luggage and the horse.
廬墓 is to build a hut beside a grave and live in it through the mourning period, the most demanding of the old observances. 看守, to stand guard, takes 看 as kān, the guarding reading, not the looking one. Wukong is issuing orders again, which is his way of recovering.
You and I will go and smash their cave open, seize the fiend, cut his corpse into ten thousand pieces, and get revenge for the master."
碎屍萬段, to break a corpse into ten thousand lengths, is a stock phrase of rage rather than a plan — it is still what Chinese reaches for when somebody wants to express the outer limit of hatred. The two aims stated at the end are not the same aim, and the chapter will only achieve one of them.
Bajie wins the theological argument and loses the scene, because Wukong simply stops discussing it and starts giving orders. That is a very recognisable way for an argument between brothers to end.
Assigning Sha Monk to keep the grave is the harshest thing in the passage. It commits him to a mourning observance that in principle lasts years, at a grave containing a stranger, while the other two go and get killed or do not. Sha Monk agrees without a word of objection.
