Pilgrim heard them and laughed. "Your lordships do me wrong.
錯怪 is to blame somebody in error. He answers a charge of rudeness with a charge of misreading, and does not address the rudeness at all.
若像這等慢人，你國王之病，就是一千年也不得好。」

"If you go on slighting people like this, your king's sickness will not be cured in a thousand years."
得 keeps its full tone dé here. 不得 stands in front of 好 and means 'cannot be got' rather than weakening to a particle. Of the chapter's four occurrences of that pair — all within this stretch — it is the only one built that way; the other three are 見不得, where the character follows its verb and weakens.
The counter-attack is instant and it inverts the whole complaint. They accused him of being coarse; he replies that their manners are what will kill their king, and turns a question of etiquette into a medical one.
慢人 is the pivot. It means to treat somebody slightingly, and he applies it to a court that has prostrated itself before him twice — because what he wants is not reverence but the king in the room.
