總評 Commentary
Cornered, Eight Rules falls back on bravado, trading mocking insults with Silver-Horn (“my boy, mind your manners”) and rising, characteristically, to defend the honor of his rake when the fiend jibes that he must have stolen it from a garden. The exchange sets up a set-piece 讚 in praise of the weapon.
The rhapsody catalogues the nine-tooth rake in the heroic-martial register — its dragon-claw teeth, its power to raise cold winds and fire, to dim the sun and the Dipper, to topple Mount Tai and the sea-dragon, and to leave “nine bloody holes” at a blow. The grandeur is comically at odds with the timorous, boastful pig who wields it, but the rake is a genuine weapon of power, and the 讚 lends the coming fight a mock-epic dignity.
