總評 Commentary
His guard broken, Eight Rules is seized bodily and interrogated. The exchange is staged as rapid call-and-response — what mountain, what cave, what gate, how far within — and the pig answers with the very formulas he drilled before the rocks: Stone Mountain, Stone Cave, iron-plated gate, three chambers.
The comedy lies in the pig’s obliviousness: he recites his prepared answers without once grasping that Pilgrim already possesses them. Each correct-sounding reply only tightens the noose, for the interrogator is not seeking information but leading the witness to condemn himself out of his own mouth in the passage to follow.
