各辦虔心 Each Of Us In Earnest

得 is the full verb dé in 勿得, which stands in front of its own predicate.

"We have escorted you this far and are all agreed on it. Your worthy disciple has subdued the demon for us and rid a whole village of its plague; so each of us will set to with a sincere heart, open a good road by another way, and see your reverence across."

降 is xiáng, to subdue — the reading the self-portrait and the elders' offer both needed. 虔心 is a heart in earnest, and the word carries religious weight: it is what you bring to an altar.

總評 Commentary

The village's answer to a weeping monk is a public works proposal, and they put it as a debt. His disciple cleared their plague; they will cut a road. Nothing about the exchange is offered as charity.

都已約定意思了 — "we have all settled on it already" — means this was agreed among themselves during the send-off, before Tripitaka wept. They came prepared for the lane.

It is the third time the village has offered payment and the third form it has taken: silver, then land, and now labour. Each offer has been larger than the last, and each has come after the one before it was refused.
