Line by line
"So old Monkey has particularly asked you gentlemen to use each his own divine power, and carry off for me the small boys in the goose coops at every house on every street of this city, coops and all, out beyond the walls into the hollows of the hills or deep among the trees; keep them hidden a day or two, and give them some fruit to eat so that they do not go hungry;
The order is precise about every detail that matters: which children, from where, coops included, to where, for how long, and fed. 一 keeps its full yī in 一二日 — a day or two — because two adjacent numerals put together are a count, not a modifier. 藏 is cáng, to hide: the same verb Tripitaka used of the coops, now turned to the opposite purpose.
"and watch over them secretly besides, so that they are not frightened into crying.
The clause that tells you what kind of story this is. Wukong has thought about the fact that a child snatched out of its own doorway in the middle of the night by an invisible wind will be terrified, and has given a specific order about it.
The instructions read like a logistics plan because that is what they are. Eleven hundred and eleven children have to be moved out of a walled city overnight, concealed, fed and kept calm, and Wukong covers every one of those requirements in two sentences.
The detail about not letting them go hungry and not letting them be frightened is the passage's moral centre, and the novel spends no words drawing attention to it. The Royal Father-in-Law also has a plan involving all eleven hundred and eleven of these children, worked out to the same level of detail. The difference between the two plans is entirely in clauses like this one.
