Tier upon tier of vermilion towers and painted galleries; peak upon peak of red cliffs and green fields.
Both openings are doubled — 疊疊 for the storeys and 嶷嶷 for the crags — and the doubling makes them repeat away into the distance. 嶷 is a rare character for a mountain standing tall, and its appearance here is the poem reaching for a formal word.
Willows of the third month of spring, lotuses of the ninth month of autumn.
The line is impossible and that is the whole of it. Spring willows and autumn lotuses do not share a season, so a place that has both is outside the year altogether — which is the standard way Chinese verse says this is not the ordinary world.

洞天 is a technical term, not a description: the 洞天 are the grotto-heavens of Daoism, thirty-six of them, hidden paradises inside mountains where immortals live. The poem has been building to this word for six lines. A rat's burrow is being given the name of a Daoist paradise, and the poem is not joking. 兀的 is the vernacular pointing word again, and putting it next to a term of art is the poem's one wink.
The last line names what the whole lyric has been implying. This is a grotto-heaven — one of the hidden paradises inside mountains — and it belongs to a rat who stole candles.
The chapter has been arguing all along about whether she is family, whether she is guilty, whether she may be killed. The poem quietly adds a harder question by giving her home a paradise's name in its very last line, with the army already inside.
