Notice what he no longer asks for. 為我辨 takes wèi, on my behalf — against the wéi that means "is taken for" and governs 非有為有 in the discourse two passages back.

總評 Commentary

The pair arrive at the last court in the cosmos and are met, as at every gate before it, by guards asking where they think they are going. The chapter has now run this beat four times — the Dharma-guarding devas, the South Heaven Gate, the gate of the shades, and now the Vajrapāṇis — and each time the institutional reflex is to treat the problem as trespass.

Wukong's request has changed shape, though. He no longer asks anybody to look. 煩如來為我辨個虛實 — trouble the Tathāgata to tell false from true for me — drops the whole vocabulary of vision, the eye of wisdom and the strength of the eyes, that he used at Potalaka and in Heaven. Since Diting he seems to have grasped that what he needs is not a better observer.
