Go And Find My Gold

The Buddha Patriarch, carrying the bag and holding the chime-mallet, laughing and chuckling, called, "Wukong, come with me and find my gold to give me back."
還 is huán, to give back. Both 著 are zhe. He is carrying the fiend at his hip while he says it.
Pilgrim, having seen such power, dared not delay, and could only lead the Buddha up the mountain, back into the monastery, to collect the broken gold.
怎敢違誤 — how should he dare delay — is the only note of deference left in Monkey after a chapter full of it.
They found the mountain gate shut fast; the Buddha Patriarch pointed once with the mallet and the gate opened.
Fifteen characters. The gate Monkey has stood outside shouting at three times in this chapter opens to one gesture of a chime-mallet.
Going in to look, they found the small fiends had already learned their old fiend was taken, and were each packing up the bottoms of their bags, all meaning to run for their lives and scatter.
收拾囊底 — packing the bottoms of their bags — is a wonderfully domestic detail for a monastery of demons, and the second bag in two segments.
總評 Commentary
The errand that closes the episode is a debt collection. Maitreya has his servant, his bag and his mallet back, and what remains is the metal — so the two of them walk up the mountain together to fetch it, laughing.
The small fiends packing to flee are the chapter's one glance at the establishment the fiend built. He impersonated a Buddha, furnished a monastery and kept a staff of several hundred, and the moment he is taken they begin emptying their luggage.
