The Cord Taken, the Retinue Conjured

Good Monkey King! He searched out her gold-glinting cord, tucked it into his sleeve, and said with delight: “That foul demon may have his powers, but by now these three treasures are surnamed Sun.”
搜出來 (sōu chū lái), "searched out." 籠在袖裡 (lǒng zài xiù lǐ), "stowed in his sleeve." 三件兒寶貝姓孫了 (sān jiàn er bǎo bèi xìng sūn le), "three treasures surnamed Sun" — diminutive er; Wukong's gleeful tally.
Then he plucked two more hairs and made them into Mountain-Straddling Tiger and Sea-Reclining Dragon; plucked two more and made them into the two sedan-bearers; and changed himself into the likeness of Old Grandma, seated in the sedan. Hoisting the sedan up, they went straight back the way they had come.
將轎子擡起 (jiāng jiào zi tái qǐ), "hoisted the sedan up" — disposal 將. 徑回本路 (jìng huí běn lù), "went straight back by the same road" — the whole conjured procession retracing its steps toward the cave.
總評 Commentary
This brief passage is the hinge of the whole infiltration: with the gold-glinting cord in his sleeve, Wukong has now stripped the demons of the third of their five treasures, and his crowing tally — 三件兒寶貝姓孫了, three treasures now surnamed Sun — measures the swindle's steady arithmetic against the brothers who still think themselves armed.
The multiplication of hairs into a full retinue — two couriers, two bearers, and the matriarch's own shape for himself — completes the audacity of the scheme: Wukong will not merely enter the demons' hall, he will enter it as their honored mother borne in state by her own attendants. The single Monkey has become a whole procession, every figure in it a filament of his body, converging on the Lotus-Flower Cave to collect the obeisance of the very fiends who sent for their mother's help.
