Bajie said, "There is no attending to good conduct at a time like this. Let us just run for our lives."
行檢 is conduct as other people assess it — the restraint that keeps your reputation intact. 得 in 顧不得 is de: cannot attend to.
行者也沒奈何，只得依他，到那淨牆邊，算計爬出。

Pilgrim could do nothing about it either, and had to fall in with him; so they went to a clear stretch of wall and reckoned on climbing out.
只得 takes dé, the reading after an adverb: had no choice but. And 算計, to reckon on or scheme, is a cool word for what is about to be a scramble.
Bajie wins the argument in sixteen characters, and he wins it by naming the priority. Lives now, dignity later.
The pleasure of it is that he is right and everyone knows he is right, including Wukong, who gives in without conceding anything. Had to fall in with him is as close to an admission as the Great Sage gets.
They are at the wall. Everything the chapter has set up over the last three pages — the horse, the passport, the luggage, the argument about reputation — has been delay, and the reader who has been counting the minutes is about to find out exactly what they cost.
