有個花園 There Is a Garden Behind
行者道：「我才一翅飛起去時，見他後邊有個花園。你哄他往園裡去耍子，我救了你罷。」唐僧道：「園裡怎麼樣救？」行者道：「我才一翅飞起去时，见他后边有个花园。你哄他往园里去耍子，我救了你罢。」唐僧道：「园里怎么样救？」
逐句解 Line by line
Pilgrim said, "Just now when I took wing and flew up, I saw there was a garden behind her place."
The plan starts with a piece of reconnaissance we were not told about at the time. 一翅 is one beat of the wing, and the detail places the sighting during his escape from the banquet.
"Coax her into going into the garden to amuse herself, and I will save you."
哄 is to coax or fool somebody into something, and Pilgrim is asking his master to do the deceiving this time. The closing 罷 is ba, the light suggestion particle, which makes the whole thing sound easier than it is.
The Tang Monk said, "And how does going into the garden save me?"
A fair question, asked flatly. Tripitaka has been given an instruction with no mechanism attached, which is the second time in this chapter.
The new plan makes the monk the deceiver. He has spent the chapter refusing to say a word that was not forced out of him, and is now being asked to lure his captor somewhere on a false pretext.
The garden has been sitting behind the house since the eagle flew over it, unmentioned. It is a neat piece of construction: the escape route was established in passing during a scene about something else.
