Two things to catch. 聞得 is a fused verb of perception, and its is , the full reading rather than the light linking syllable. And 燒紙 — to burn paper — is the ritual act: paper money and paper documents burnt to notify the spirits. She is not tidying up. She is starting a ceremony.


總評 Commentary

The chapter runs the same approach twice and the repetition is the point. Fly, gate-tower, eavesdrop — and what he overhears the second time is much worse than the first.

Burning paper is worth understanding, because it turns her earlier line into a plan. Paper offerings are how the living send documents to the other world: money, petitions, notices. She said she would take heaven for matchmaker and earth for witness, and now she is filing the paperwork.
