總評 Commentary
This is the same thirty-five titles in the same order as the list on the red labels, read back as a delivery note. Every figure has come down, most of them steeply, and the reductions are not random.
Look at the two that can be checked. The Diamond Sutra is one scroll here, and the real Diamond Sutra is one scroll — the oldest dated printed book that survives anywhere is a copy of it. The Flower-Garland is eighty-one, and the standard Chinese Flower-Garland is eighty, or eighty-one with the chapter usually appended. The promised list said a hundred and five hundred. Whatever the first catalogue was, this one is closer to a real library.
And the layout is the same: title, the leader dots, a figure. Six hundred and twenty-five of those dots run through the two catalogues in this chapter and appear nowhere else in it. The printer set both lists as tables, and the reader's edition keeps them that way.
