逐句解 Line by line

yòngfàngzàijiā yòngfàngzàijiā

"Leave it be — set it by at home."

不用他 — "make no use of it." The vase stays home.

kuàijiāngjiànshànzilái。」 kuàijiāngjiànshànzilái。」

"Quick, bring me the sword and the fan."

快將劍與扇子拿來 — "bring the sword and fan at once," marking the objects being handled (jiāng); 扇子 takes the noun suffix (zi).

guǎnjiādejiāngliǎngjiànbǎobèixiànlǎo guǎnjiādejiāngliǎngjiànbǎobèixiànlǎo

The steward-imp at once presented the two treasures to the old fiend.

即將兩件寶貝獻與 — "thereupon took the two treasures and offered them up," again the disposal marker (jiāng).

The old fiend thrust the Plantain Fan into the collar at his nape, gripped the Seven-Star Sword in his hand, and mustered besides some three hundred and more of his host, great and small, bidding every one of them level spear and ply staff, order their ropes and wheel their blades.

後項衣領 is the back of the collar — worth noting where the fan is stowed, because that is where it will be stolen from. 都教一個個 is "had every last one of them," with again in the "bid, make" sense (jiào); 理索掄刀 is "ordering ropes and wheeling blades," the general bustle of arming.

The old fiend himself donned helmet and mail, and threw over all a robe of gauze, flame-red and blazing.

頂盔貫甲 — "capped with helmet, sheathed in mail," a set four-character phrase for arming. Over it goes 赤焰焰的絲袍, a gauze robe of blazing crimson, laying in the colour for the portrait to come.

qúnyāobǎichūzhènyàosūnshèng qúnyāobǎichūzhènyàosūnshèng

The pack of fiends filed out in battle-array, meaning to take Sun the Great Sage.

擺出陣去 — "marched out in formation." The muster is complete and the elder means to avenge his brother with numbers.

總評 Commentary

Grief hardens into war. Setting the useless vase aside, the old fiend arms himself — Plantain Fan tucked at the nape, Seven-Star Sword in hand — and calls up better than three hundred imps, every one of them put to spear and staff, rope and blade. The passage is almost pure movement, a scene of bustling mobilization.

The escalation is deliberate. Where the demons had gone out to meet Wukong singly, the elder now leads his whole force into the field, armoured and furious. The flame-red gauze robe and the gleaming mail set up the martial portrait that opens the confrontation, and the muster answers Bajie's helplessness on the beam with the threat of open battle.
